Growing up as an open-minded, creative and energetic spirit, it felt natural for me to make meaning out of life’s endless inspirations. There has always been a sense of inner-knowing that I am here on this Earth for a purpose. Though the path was unclear in the beginning, I found my way. I am blessed to be sensitive to subtle energies that have guided me through resonance into becoming the young woman I am today. My spiritual awakening was not all glitter. It was also grit. When I was nineteen years, I fit my life into a backpack and traveled with the intention to live in London; the other side of the globe.
Leaving all my creature comforts behind, I understood that I would not return the same. My experience of depression, anxiety and identity loss, which followed caused me pain that was a catalyst for change in my life.“I am meant for more than this,” I spoke to myself in the mirror. I could not recognize this human who once used to be so light. I yearned to feel whole and fulfilled. Up until that point, I had felt a victim to my darkness. The suffering lead me to my yoga and meditation practice. I created a safe space for myself to be on my mat. Then the whispering insights began to come. “It’s up to me. I choose to make a change.”, “What can I learn from this? How can I tap into my gifts?”, “What message do I have to share that will make a positive impact on this world and the lives of others?”My struggles became my strengths. The solitude I once tried to run from gave me the key to my freedom as I truly began to discover what treasures were buried within me.
I established what was important to me and how I could align with the life of my dreams. My love for spirituality, psychology, plant medicine and holistic wellbeing flourished from an abundance of research, readings, and resources that crossed my path. Surprisingly, it would happen that I would meet an influential person or the right piece of information seemed to fall into my lap as I needed it.Through self-development and expression through my writing, I became an unstoppable force who had cultivated an “anything is possible” mindset. It occurred to me that I was co-creating alongside the invisible powers of the universe. As more time passed, my trust in the process only deepened. I coasted along for a while experimenting with my relationship with my environment. Then there came a point where I had to make some really tough decisions. Letting go of what was no longer serving me taught me my most profound lessons. The realizations and loss brought a lot of heartbreak that asked for healing. I am so grateful that I followed the signs, even when I feared to lose control, for it led me to my most authentic life. My connection with the universe is the most beautiful love story I have ever known. The synchronicities I experienced the entire way were pure bliss and reassurance that I needed, gently nudging me “keep going, you’re close”.
I returned to Australia and ended my four-year relationship, respectfully he had been a great teacher. My mum and step-father generously had me back in their beautiful home and gave me the space I needed to breathe and progress towards my goals. I quit working three job’s which made end’s meet and instead applied for an internship with a creative, psychology wellness hub – The Indigo Project. I had been an active part of their community, engaged in workshops and courses that showed me how to create the life that I want. In awe of their mission to help people “get their shit together” that I knew it was where I needed to be. That door led to the opening of more doors which allowed me to accelerate on my journey to healing and transformation. I get to share my experiences and support others through their struggles every, single day. It’s a place where I feel my talents and tribulations are of value and importance. My gratitude for my yoga practice and the encouragement from some divine mentors made me realize my belonging as a yoga teacher. I completed my nourishing 200hr teacher training at the boutique Kai Yoga studio this year and found my tribe. I am so thankful to my teachers for their wisdom.
My heart bursts with the idea that I can give a unique, personal experience to whoever comes to my class to breathe in the life of yoga.I also overcame some rough rooted limiting beliefs that prevented me from shining my light, stepping into my power and being the leading voice that I envisioned for myself. The most curious of all, I found love again. I met my soulmate on the 11th of November, after following his philosophy page for awakened minds (@findtheothers) when I needed support from like-minded others. We connected through common interests and our artistry with the intention to help each other with our creative pursuits. The magnetic pull was unlike anything I’ve felt before. He made complete sense to me and recognized me for who I was and am becoming. We now have the most symbiotic, poetic and fun union. We are so in tune and vibrate on the same frequency. Honestly, we agree that we manifested each other. I am in total admiration of him. Finally, I started my mission movement, Grow+Flow (@growplusflow), which is my personal page dedicated to serving others and unifying through genuine human experience. It encompassed soul healing and expansion, light-work, yoga and meditation, wellness coaching and NLP for which I have immersed myself into training to be able to gift the most radiant presence in all that I do. My plans for the future are humble and wholesome. I am well on my way to building a wilderness wellness retreat to be enjoyed by all who will be welcomed!I believe in myself. It’s just the beginning.
I have felt supported in all moments, even in the darkness. I have never really been alone. This is shown to me in the form of signs, symbols, numerology, music and others who I come to face. Occasionally, messages will come through that tell me what I need to know. So long as I remain open, aware and listening I can see it, feel it and hear it all around me. Not in my wildest dreams can I imagine what’s to come. My hearts desires have burst into life all within this last year. That’s real magic. Lauren’s story shows us that by creating space and developing some form of spiritual practice we automatically tune into the messages that are all around us. How are you creating space in your life to follow your inner guidance?
