To this day I’m shocked at how easily I received the opportunity to be doing what I do.
For years nutrition was a hobby and my ultimate passion. Once I decided to study it things really fell into place.
It created work for me that ticked all my boxes. I could fit it in with my schedule of caring for a child but most of all it was deeply meaningful to me.
Making the decision to start my nutrition studies wasn’t an easy one. Investing the time and money when I didn’t have much of either had me thinking for months. I knew I wanted the change in my career but found it daunting. Ultimately, following my passion prevailed.
A couple of months later it became clear that this was the right step. When the opportunity came to join an organisation on a mission I felt it in every part of my body and I just knew I had to do whatever I could to be a part of it. It started me on an intense journey of learning, fun, collaborating with fantastic people, inspiring many others and developing my expertise in healing with nutrition.
This was barely after submitting my application to the Natural Healthcare College UK. I looked up my text books to order and I was counting the money I had to see which books I could order. Interestingly, money in the amount I spent on books arrived in my bank account a week later.
I was really excited to meet our guests, a couple. I saw the man talk on a YouTube video. He leads business trainings, but he said behind all that, his deepest passion is about health. ‘Oh I love this guy’ I thought to myself. ‘I’m really curious to learn what he does in health’.
When our guests were visiting everything was so busy. It was a working holiday for them and I was busy being a great host. Turns out, I made the best salads near and far. I remember having to use an enormous fruit bowl for all that colourful salad. I made massive portions for our lunches and dinners. I’m so glad they were a success. I like to be a good host. Over meals we had great chats and I enjoyed learning their views about health. Although I have to admit, some conversations I really had to focus too to be able to follow, the various stages of diabetes, for example, and how they were related to the activities of the food industry and what the food marketers don’t tell us. Plus I had baby feedings to do during all that.
When the chance came one weekend to finally have a more intimate conversation and to share my passion, I talked about my own journey in my health and I proudly talked about what I achieved in 10 years. The response was, ‘Well, I can create the same results for anybody in 3 months’ Oops. I couldn’t say anything to that.
The day before the final goodbyes I learnt that I will be allowed to join as an observer on one of the upcoming programs. I was so excited.
This was then followed by my huge dedication and enthusiasm to learn so much both at the college and also supporting the program. I was also taking chances at every single opportunity that came my way for the next number of years. When my child was napping I worked, after bedtime I joined a live session to add value to clients or to meet with the team. When a task needed to be done, I jumped in. My college assignments were usually completed in the night time. I strictly had to use the principles of what I learnt about health and nutrition to be in my best shape and successfully manage work, studying and being a mum. But I did it.
The two things that saved me the most were cycling the food seasons and taking an hour walks as my self-care. It was like being superhuman. I did it and about a year later I had my diploma in my hand and I had started my first official contract. There it was, the work that’s flexible to suit my lifestyle and it is deeply meaningful.
The best thing; I’m being reminded about the importance of what I do by the people whom I served. It keeps my work alive. I simply have no other option. Even if I considered chickening out from the next opportunity to step up, I couldn’t. I just have to do it. I have excellent friends who keep nudging me. I do need that sometimes.
I’ve worked with over 2000 people over the past four years, guiding them to health with the most impactful method I know of in my 17 years of experience.
Now that I have the clear steps ready, I was asked to write my story. Thank you for this opportunity. And if you’re a woman who my health journey could serve please say hello to me.
When we do what we love in service to others we are supported. Our passion will always get us through.

Thank you for sharing your story and how wonderful to read how you discovered your current journey. You have been an invaluable part of my most recent educational experience and you supported me through the process so very well, so for that, Thank you!!! I really like the way you highlight that when you choose to take on an opportunity that is presented to you with faith and courage, the details and means are provided. I like that idea very much and well, the challenge for some and for me, is to know if the opportunity presented is truly right for the path that I am needing to follow. So, in writing what I have just written, I realise that it is that very fear that holds us back. The fear of making a wrong choice, the fear of not believing in your self or the doubt that you can do it. So, that being said, I would say the answer is to move forward into action with confidence and courage knowing that a choice to move forward is a choice to know and learn. Whether it is the right choice or the wrong choice, moving forward and deciding to decide gets you your answer and grown you have. So thank you for sharing your story and for all your wonderful support that you gave my self and my co-coach during our first big adventure of captaining the boat through the deep blue seas of Health transformation.
Thank you and bravo!!!
